On what turned out to be a scorching night with temperatures topping out over 100 degrees in Los Angeles, Linkin Park, Thirty Seconds to Mars and AFI brought their own brand of heat to the Hollywood Bowl.
For Linkin Park, the Hollywood Bowl show was a homecoming, bringing the band back to the city that helped launch their career. And with it being a hometown show, the group brought out a couple of friends for the night. Fellow Los Angelino and recent collaborator Daron Malakian of System of a Down fame came out to reprise his guitar contribution on ‘The Hunting Party’ track ‘Rebellion,’ enjoying a little guitar interplay with Brad Delson. Meanwhile Of Mice & Men‘s Austin Carlile showed off his powerful lungs matching Chester Bennington‘s aggression on a late set performance of ‘Faint.’ Carlile and Of Mice & Men will be supporting Linkin Park on their upcoming European trek, so the show was a precursor of things to come.
Linkin Park spoke with Artisan News at the Golden Gods and gave them the skinny on their new album ‘The Hunting Party’, how it is described as a Hybrid Theory prequel, and recruitment of System Of A Down guitarist Daron Malakian for the album. Watch it below:
