Last book you bought/read

Postby TheTruth » November 24th, 2010, 10:30 am

At this thread you can share your opinions of last book you read, bought in the store etc etc and your thoughts/opinion about it. And you can share about your reading habbits, fav book etc.

As for myself i'm a huge fan of reading books, im trying to read every day, as for now I dont have much time for it becouse of my work shift, so now im reading in the bus when i go work or home. Another good place to read is on toilet :D and ofcourse bath..

Last books i read was:

F.Kafka - the process
F. Kafka - the castle

Both books were very good, but castle i liked more couse of its gloomy and dark atmosphere, interesting characters and tha whole place (village) there plot took place. Recomendation for fans of dark literature and absurd stuff.

I'm currently reading Metro 2033. It's the most amazing. Book. EVER. I'm not even that far and i love it. (Im actually about to read it right now... OMG ITS GETTING GOOD) I'm bad at describing and explaining stuff, so google it... Sorry. Its by Dmitry Glukhovsky. If you're a fan of sci-fi/horror, read it. Hell, even if you're not, read it!
They made a game out of it(I didn't play it all yet, the book is 10 times better)
I've also read the book 'Hold Tight' by Harlen Coben (I hope that's his name :3), it's really good (it's a mystery). It's too complicated for me to explain, I'm stupid and read it like a year and a half ago.
If any of you read a really sad book, please tell me! I've been in the mood to read one XD
I'll show you a block of text.

And my friend is trying to get me to borrow Child 44!

I'm currently reading Maus Part 1. It's about the Holocaust and it's writin in the form of a graphic novel. The authors Dad went through Auschwitz and stuff and it's his story and how he survived. I think everyone should read these books at one point in their lives.

The last 2 books I read were 1;The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time - which I really enjoyed reading. Easy reading but a super plot and great immitating in the narrating style of an autistic boy.

and 2;Dreams of My Russian Summers (in slovenian language tho)
Very touching written scenes of the gross and cruel world durning war. Its a bit hard to understand it in the beginig because of the many histroical facts and bakcgrounds but once you continue reading everything gets clearer. Its a very good read Id say.

I read The Metamorphosis last month and heard quite a few good critics about The process so I'm considering reading it in the near future (:

Yeah, I read it few years ago and I was blown away, very good characters, plot, surreal atmosphere and nice mixture of russian words.

Yeah, this short story is one of his best works, but i preffer castle over process, becouse castle is more dark and the process is more absurd based story. But I liked them both..

Ok I read another one, this time I switched book style a little and this time I took comedy genre. So:

Jerome K. Jerome three men in a boat(to say nothing of the dog). recomended then you want something easy, but good at the same time. In this book you can found really good sense of humor and interesting characters. Story goes about 3 snobs who thought that going with a bout for a vocation was a good idea..
